General Overview of the Farm Gerald Post Pullets is an existing farm located in Mercer County, Gibson Township, at 2751 Fox Road, Ft. Recovery, Ohio and is located in the Upper Wabash Watershed. The pullet farm is owned and operated by Gerald Post. Gerald Post Pullets has the design capacity to house 134,000 pullets in one barn. Gerald Post Pullets will produce approximately 750 tons of manure annually and the manure is collected in a concrete pit below the birds. The manure pit has the capacity to store approximately 400 days of manure. All the manure is distributed off the farm to cooperating crop farmers or brokers as a replacement for commercial fertilizer on cropland. PUBLIC NOTICE Date of Notice: October 25, 2017 Name and address of facility: Gerald Post Pullets 2751 Fox Road Fort Recovery, Ohio 45846 Name and address of applicants: Gerald Post 3299 Fox Road St. Henry, Ohio 45883 In accordance with OAC rule 901:10-6-01, public notice is hereby given that the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) is accepting comments on a draft Permit to Install (PTI) for the facility called “Gerald Post Pullets” which is located at 2751 Fox Road, Fort Recovery, Ohio 45846 in Mercer County, Gibson Township in the Upper Wabash Watershed. If the final permit is issued, the PTI would be valid for two years. Copies of the draft permit can be reviewed and/or copies made at the Division of Livestock Environmental Permitting (DLEP) office at: A.B. Graham Building, 8995 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068, (614) 387-0470. Any person may submit written comments and/or request a public meeting on the draft permit. A request for a public meeting must be in writing and shall state the nature of the issues to be raised at the public meeting. Comments and/or public meeting requests must be received by the DLEP office no later than 5 p.m. November 24, 2017. Comments received after this date will not be considered. A public meeting will be held when required by OAC 901:10-6-04(C) and may be held where authorized by OAC 901:10-6-01(D). Persons have a right to provide a written or oral statement for the record at the public meeting, if a meeting is scheduled. The Division of Livestock Environmental Permitting maintains an “interested parties” list for each Ohio County and well as a statewide list for notification of all draft permits.
