The Auglaize County Victim Assistance Program has been in formal existence since 1986 but has actually existed in a less structured way since 1981. Throughout the years, a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant award administered by the Ohio Attorney General's Office has primarily funded the program. Auglaize County provides a cash match to the grant, which enables the Victim Assistance Program to be of assistance to the citizens of Auglaize County.

The Victim Advocate provides support through the Prosecutor's Office to victims involved in the Municipal' Juvenile, and Common Pleas Courts. The Victim Assistance Program depends on the Prosecutor's Office and Law Enforcement for referrals of crime victims. Services provided by the Auglaize County Victim Assistance Program include, but are not limited to: crisis counseling, information and referral, criminal justice advocacy, escort, and support during all stages of the criminal justice process.

The Auglaize County Victim Assistance Program has a Twenty-Four hour on-call volunteer program. After intensive training provided by the Victim Advocate, individuals volunteer to carry a pager for evening and weekend hours.

The Victim Advocate, Kristin Green, has been with the Program since May of 2013. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Bowling Green State University.
