1. We accept applications on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., by appointment only. Fingerprints will be submitted at your initial appointment.
2. Applicants must be a legal resident of the United States and a resident of the county (or an adjoining county) for at least 30 days. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and not a fugitive from justice.
3. Initial CCW License Fee:
   • $67.00 (Ohio resident for past 5 years)
   • $77.00 (NOT an Ohio resident for past 5 years)
4. Renewal License Fee:
   • $50.00 (Ohio resident for past 5 years)
   • $60.00 (NOT an Ohio resident for past 5 years)
5. License and renewal fees for active and honorably discharged members of the armed forces are waived, subject to a statewide cap. If the cap is reached, the waiver ends for that year. (DD214 must be provided).
6. Accepted Payments: Cash, Personal Checks, Money Orders, or Cashier's Checks made payable to: Auglaize County Treasurer.
7. Applications can be picked up at the Sheriff's Office or printed from the Ohio Attorney General's website:

8. The applicant's photograph will be taken at the initial appointment.
9. When submitting the initial application, the applicant MUST provide the original Training Certificate including the trainer's name, number, and training dates. This must meet State of Ohio requirements.
10. The applicant should wait and sign the application at the time of submission.
11. The applicant must submit a valid driver's license.
12. When the background check is complete, the applicant will receive their license via U.S. Mail.
13. If a license holder moves within Ohio, they must inform the issuing Sheriff within 45 days. Licenses may be renewed any time before or after expiration.
